We are delighted to welcome Joe to our teaching team this term. Joe is a former Stage One student. He studied Performance at Arts Educational Scool, London and graduated in 2016. He has worked on a variety of projects with some of the biggest names in theatre. In his first professional job he played the lead, David Starr in a workshop of Tony Award winner, Jerry Mitchell’s (director/choreographer of Broadway's Pretty Woman currently staring fellow Manxie and Stage One alumni Samantha Barks), new Musical ‘Becoming Nancy’ with Jenna Russell and Spandau Ballet’s Gary Kemp. Joe’s other credits include The Little Princess performed with Andrew Lippa, Amanda Abbington and the Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Sweet Charity at Cadogan Hall alongside Denise Van Outen, Kimberly Walsh and Kerry Ellis; Hey Old Friends! Sondheim’s 80th Birthday Gala at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, D-Day 70 Years On at the Royal Albert Hall and supporting the likes of Kevin Spacey and Beverly Knight at the Olivier Awards 2015 and 2016. Joe also sang backing vocals on the ‘Carry The Fire’ album by X Factor’s Rhydian Roberts. Joe grew up doing theatre here on the Isle of Man and is thrilled that whilst he is back on the Island he has the opportunity to pass on some of the things he has learned to the next generation of young Manx performers at Stage One!
